Owned by English couple Susan and Peter Close, Château Camplazens uses only the finest Syrah grapes from their vineyards to produce this wine. Medium bodied and fragrant, showing notes of smoky plum, orange peel and herbs, the refreshing aftertaste is in the style of wines from the northern Rhône.

Sablet Le Rêve de Marine 2004, Domaine de Piaugier, at Majestic Wine
Following age-old family tradition, Piaugier named this wine 'Marine's Dream' after their youngest daughter. Being between twenty and forty-five years old, the vines are in their full, rich, plentiful prime. Deep purple in colour, the nose shows violets at first, then gives way to more complex, spicy aromas. With soft, silky tannins, this well rounded and harmonious wine is already very appealing. Enjoy with steak and strong cheeses.

Morellino di Scansano 2006, Lohsa, Poliziano, at Majestic Wine Warehouses
DOC Morellino di Scansano is an up-and-coming appellation in Southern Tuscany that produces 100% Sangiovese wines with an outstanding typicity and intensity, that offer an interesting alternative to Chianti. It is then aged in new American oak barrels for 6 months creating perfect balance between quality fruit and well integrated oak.

Clicquot have an excellent reputation for producing a classic vintage expression of the house style. The pale green-gold colour and fine mousse belie the power that begins to reveal itself on the nose and finally explodes in the mouth. The richness is balanced throughout with finesse and delicacy, a fine achievement for a quality conscious producer.

Montagny Vieilles Vignes 2006, Cuvée Speciale Buxy, at Majestic Wine Warehouses
The Montagny appellation is situated between Meursault and Mâcon and boasts a healthy production of value-for-money white Burgundy. This Chardonnay is made by the excellent Buxy co-operative and offers ripe lemons on the palate with an elegant, steely dry finish.

Perrin Cairanne Peyre Blanche 2005, Côtes du Rhône Villages, at Majestic Wine Warehouses
The Perrin brothers of Château de Beaucastel produce some of the Rhône's best wines. Located in the heart of Cairanne, this rich, Grenache dominated Côtes-du-Rhône Villages has silky tannins and good length. Perfect with Provençal-style dishes such as ratatouille.

Orvieto Classico Secco Vigneto Mortaro 2006, Barberani, at Majestic Wine Warehouse
A classic Umbrian golden-white wine that is both smooth and substantial. This wine is produced in the heart of one of the most classic regions of Italy, Orvieto. Indigenous varieties have been carefully crafted together to produce a clean, crisp wine with plenty of citrussy fruit. Best drunk within the next 2 years.

Certainly among the very best Bodegas of the Rioja Alta region producing traditional Riojas of much character and class. This is their top cuvée, a wine of rich complexity with deep, chewy and concentrated flavours.
