In keeping with Burgundy tradition this wine is fermented and matured in French oak barrels for 13 months. It then undergoes a quick fining and light filtration to retain the freshness of the fruit and the bouquet of the great terroir of Meursault. Petit Verdot 'Par Preignes' 2005, Vin de Pays d'Oc, at Majestic Wine
Petit Verdot normally finds it way into claret to add a hint of spice and body to the wine, but as a single varietal it makes a rich, smooth wine with aromas of ripe berry and plum fruits. Full and round on the palate with peppery spice, hints of vanilla and a long, lingering finish. Ideal with sauçisson secs, pâtés and pungent French cheeses such as Port-Salut.

Using the practice of 'lutte raisonnée', or minimum intervention, winemaker Edouard Pisani-Ferry aims to produce ever riper grapes and the sunshine and heat of 2003 certainly helped!
