Coulée d'Argent Vouvray Sec 2006, Bourillon-Dorléans, at Majestic Wine Warehouse
Since 1921 the Bourillon-Dorléans family have dedicated themselves to producing traditional, characteristic Vouvray wines which are still matured at optimum temperature in the 15th Century troglodyte caves. A delicate and complex wine with subtle aromas of white blossom, acacia and minerals, balanced by flavours of pears and quince on the palate. The richness of flavours are offset by a crisp acidity, giving a clean and refreshing finish.

Casillero del Diablo Merlot 2006, Rapel Valley, at MajesticWine
Deep red in colour, this rich, smooth wine shows ripe fruit flavours of cherries, currants, berries and plums. Full and velvety on the palate with hints of chocolate and spice, generously framed by toasty American oak. Excellent with barbecued meats.

A medium-bodied Pinot Noir with soft tannins and good crisp acidity. The grapes are sourced from the Vars region which is well placed to receive maximum sunshine throughout the summer but remains quite cool during spring time.

Beaujolais from MajesticWine is the perfect red wine to enjoy during the summer. The lighter reds are often best enjoyed chilled and make a great alternative to many rosé wines. The more serious Beaujolais wines from the cru rated villages make a wonderful accompaniment to barbecues or garden parties.

A recent "Manager's Choice" from MajesticWine was Moulin-ß-Vent 'Les Bruyères' 2006 B. de Monceny; Showing a nose of bitter chocolate, cherries and a wonderfully constructed palate, this Beaujolais could easily be mistaken for a Pinot Noir. It is however, a good example of a Beaujolais cru famed for its fuller style and keeness to age. At this price we're really impressed by its complexity and length.
